Share Your Vision

Release the Oppressed Ministries seeks to practically help those with a vision, to see their ministry become a reality.

Your Vision

Your Ministry

In becoming a launched ministry through ROM, there is no application process because your ministry will always be yours and the Lord’s. But to help ROM board members decide which ministries we can best help launch, we require a certain amount of fellowship. That is, we want to hear and see the Lord in your ministry.

Your Chapter One

It would be wonderful if you could come out to the Carolinas and meet with us for dinner and share this vision God has given you. But at the very least we would ask that you share with us the “Chapter One,” of your ministry’s book. Chapter Ones that we are looking for, will include biographical information that includes your spiritual journey so far, how God has brought you to this place of starting this ministry, and your vision for it. By vision we look for, who are the oppressed people you are reaching out to, how do you hope to bring release to their oppression, and where you see God bringing you eventually through this. What are some key moments and signs and words from God along the way, that have helped you to see that God is calling you to start this ministry? For example, below is Chapter One of Release the Oppressed Ministries, in part.

Chapter One Exmaple

Ann and I have been serving in missions since 1983. We were single then, Ann receiving her call to missions while attending an Urbana conference, while I had been on a one year service in Haiti. After meeting at Moody Bible Institute in 1984, we both were drawn of the Lord, to look into full time service with WEC International. Ann did a summer tour with Operation Mobilization, working in the Arab district of London, while I was doing language studies, and then we married in 1987. We were studying Central Asian Turkic languages and eventually moved with our first baby in 1988, to Northwest China, where we lived for the next 10 years.

While there, we had another child, and just as we had been praying about having a third child, a good friend brought us an abandoned baby with a double cleft palate. Little Dennis stayed with us for the next and last five months of his life, changing our lives forever. The Lord had already made it clear to us, that we would…

SOMETHING NEW

NOBODY IS DOING IT YET

Ann and I had been studying one language for a year, thinking we were going to the country of that language. But after seeing a presentation on another people who live in another country, each of us felt that this other country was where we should go. But how to break the news? When it finally came out, we just laughed. Then when we told the mission’s leaders, they too laughed. God had showed them too that we should be the ones to go there first. Apostolic ministry is like that. If nobody is doing it yet, but you feel the Lord is leading you to go, let us know. Maybe the folks at ROM can help.

WHAT'S GOD SAYING TO YOU?

It all starts with a word from the Lord. How do you hear from Him? In order to function in faith, we are told that “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing comes from the word of Christ.” When God tells us to do something, and we take that first step and start doing it; that is where the faith adventure begins. When you trusted in Christ, and professed your faith, it may have sounded strange to some, but you took that step. If you are on this page, we assume you’ve taken many steps of faith since then. What is God saying to you about bringing help and healing to the downtrodden?
